Ping G20 Driver
The G20 driver is engineered for golfers seeking.
A maximum forgiveness driver that delivers distance and accuracy. Its 460cc titanium head is longer front to back and features PING’s patented ultra thin crown technology. Weight savings from the thin crown are positioned as an external sole weight to optimize the center of gravity for higher trajectories and reduced spin.
A larger face is designed to increase
Ball speed and provide consistency across the entire hitting surface. The new PING-designed TFC 149D high balance point shaft allows for a five gram increase in head mass (without increasing swingweight or overall weight) which results in higher ball speeds and an increased moment of inertia
The G20 driver has a heavier head than G15 (7 grams more than standard) for greater force at impact. Additional backweighting and a more elongated face shore up misses. (Ping "shaved" the head in the low toe area to meet the 460cc size limit.) The reconfigured clubhead — 5 percent higher moment of inertia on heel or toe hits — combines with a light, 45.75-inch "high-balance point" shaft (TFC 169D or TFC 169D Tour) to boost clubhead speed and, thus, distance. Specifically, the TFC 169D shaft has more flexible tip and butt sections for softer feel.
This Ping G20 Driver also features:
460cc titanium light alloy clubhead
External weighting gives high launch & low spin for distance & accuracy
Variable-thickness face for faster ball speeds and increased MOI
The large 460cc clubhead is made from a lighter, lower-density titanium alloy with a high strength-to-weight ratio which allows additional weight to be re-positioned to increase the MOI on both the vertical and horizontal axes. An external weight optimizes the center of gravity position to generate high launch and low spin to give both distance and accuracy, while weight savings from varying wall thicknesses in the crown and body are positioned to optimize performance and durability. The variable-thickness face generates faster ball speeds and increased MOI for maximum forgiveness.
In total, G20 launches shots 0.75 degrees higher than G15, with 200 rpm less spin and 1 mph faster ball speed on center hits, which adds up to five yards more carry and roll.
